Raz Kids--Classroom reading

We all know that reading is one of the most important things we can teach. But it can be challenging to read with each child everyday, focus on them while controlling a class, teaching students how to sound out words, read everyday, and more. There is a program I use in my classroom called "Raz-Kids." This program is an online reading program that uses positive reinforcement to encourage children to read and enjoy reading. As a teacher, I get to control each students individual needs. Each child gets their own account which is set according to their own reading level.
Each student gets their own page and can listen to and read books and answer questions on what they have read while gaining stars to spend on making their robot individualized and add things to their Rocket Room.

This website is fabulous because it has a whole library of books to choose from, allows children to record themselves reading the books so the teacher can hear them and award bonus stars as well as have the students wanting to "play" because they enjoy personalizing their page.

This website it a fabulous addition to any reading program in any school.  In my classroom, there are tablets and computers for students to use and this website it built right in! Students love going on and "playing" the raz-kids game. The teacher assigns the reading levels, chooses what the students can have access to, give assignments, and can do running records all on this one website.  It is really such an amazing tool!
